Accounts Receivable Coordinator (Full-time)
Salary: $23 - $27.50 an hour based on years of experience

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Hospice Biller to join our Revenue Cycle team. The primary focus of this role will be billing Medicare Part A for hospice services, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely claim submission. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with Medicare regulations, hospice billing processes, and revenue cycle functions.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare and submit Medicare Part A hospice claims in compliance with CMS regulations and organizational policies.
  • Verify accuracy of patient demographics, benefit periods, levels of care (routine, respite, GIP, continuous), and physician certifications/recertifications.
  • Ensure Face-to-Face (F2F) and other documentation requirements are met prior to claim submission.
  • Post payments and adjustments; reconcile remittance advices (ERA/EOB) for accuracy.
  • Identify, correct, and resubmit denied or rejected claims in a timely manner.
  • Monitor unpaid claims and follow up with Medicare as needed.
  • Collaborate with Admissions, Clinical, and Finance staff to resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare hospice billing regulations (Part A) and CMS updates.
  • Assist with reporting and audits as requested.

What You'll Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in hospice or home health billing, with a strong focus on Medicare Part A.
  • Knowledge of Medicare hospice regulations, revenue codes, condition codes, and billing requirements.
  • Proficiency with EMR/billing systems (e.g., MyUnity, Netsmart, Epic, or similar).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
