Fairbanks Morse Defense is looking for an Accounts Receivable Associate to join our team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing of customer invoices and credit memos for goods and services on a timely basis. He/she will oversee accurate processing of invoices and collections. The associate delivers and drives collections based on metrics and target setting. He/she will ensure deadlines are met while maintaining appropriate internal controls. Assisting with internal and external audits of policies, procedures and overall financial statements will be a key function of this role.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Invoicing & Billing: Generate, verify, and distribute accurate invoices to customers in a timely manner. This can include entry into various customer portals (IPP, WAWF, Taulia, Oracle, Exostar.
• Payment Processing: Record and apply payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit cards) directly to customer accounts. Process any credit card transactions for FMA and/or other affiliated Business Units.
• Collections: Monitor AR aging reports, follow up on overdue accounts via email or telephone and manage past due balances.
• Account Reconciliation: Investigate short payments, investigate preliminary disputes, apply write-offs, and reconcile payments and/or credit memos against general ledgers.
• Cross Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with various service admins, parts, logistics and sales to clarify payment terms and resolve customer disputes as timely as possible.
• Provides regular customer account status reports as well as A/R aging reports and DSO reporting.
• Ensures accounts receivable policies and procedures are followed and that external and internal controls/policies are adhered to.
• Assist with month-end close.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of government payment systems is a plus (WAWF & IPP, etc.)
• Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, organizational, and technical skills
• Strong attention to detail, ability to make sound/quality decisions
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in use of an ERP computer software package
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• This position includes access or potential access to export-controlled data. Therefore, you will need to qualify as a U.S. Person, which is defined as a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Permanent Resident or a political asylee in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

Maintenance, including renewal, of licensing authorization is a condition of employment. Government authorization may be a suitable alternative after review on a case-by-case basis.
