As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate payment and recording of transactions with our vendors. Your responsibilities will include data entry of accounts payable vouchers, processing check runs, and reconciling various accounting reports. You will also provide essential administrative support to our agency programs, creditors, and clientele, helping us achieve our mission of supporting the community.
What we're looking for in the ideal candidate:
• Has 2-5 years of experience in accounts payable or similar position.
• Has a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Depending on the department assigned, a valid California driver’s license, a current DMV driving record, and proof of insurance may be required to fulfill job-related travel. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable laws.
As an Accounts Payable Specialist you will:
• Accurately enter accounts payable vouchers into the accounting system.
• Process employee travel requests, reconciliations, and reimbursements.
• Analyze expenses and handle petty cash replenishment requests.
• Resolve vendor and staff inquiries professionally.
• Maintain and organize accounts payable registers and journals.
• Process payments to vendors and complete check runs on schedule.
• Reconcile vendor statements and post transactions to the General Ledger.
• Assist during audit periods with data collection and preparation.
• Maintain filing system in accordance with departmental procedures.
