YAI has an opening for an Accounts Payable Specialist. This is an administrative support position. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for various accounting and clerical tasks related to the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions. The Accounts Payable Specialist works under the direction of the Director of Accounts Payable, and the Accounts Payable Manager. Work completed by the Accounts Payable Specialist is reviewed and monitored by the Accounts Payable Manager.
Key responsibilities:
· Receive and verify high volume of invoices and requisitions for goods and services.
· Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
· Prepare high volume of invoices for processing.
· Prepare settlement runs.
· Record all checks.
· Prepare supplier checks for mailing.
· List all supplier checks in the logbook (spreadsheet).
· Open mail, date stamp invoices and route to responsible A/P Specialist.
· Maintain updated supplier files and file numbers.
· Collaborate with other departments and/or outside suppliers to resolve problems.
· Report problems and other issues and make recommendations to the A/P Manager to improve procedures.
· Perform related work, as required.
· Perform other duties as required by management team
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma (Minimum).
· Good Communication skills.
· Good Organizational skills.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge of YAI’s corporate culture
· Knowledge of the organizations A/P Policies and Procedures
· Ability to use the A/P software, Workday.
· Ability to use MS Excel to create and edit spreadsheets.
· Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
· Ability to assist with solving problems associated with A/P issues.
· Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize.
· Good Communication skills to interface with company employees and outside suppliers.
· Self Starter
Pay Rate: $22.40
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm
