Job Description

Accounts Payable Specialist completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

Performance Responsibilities and Standards:

1. Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval before payment
2. Processes invoices into computer system, coded accurately and in the right reporting period
3. Paying vendors by scheduling checks and ensuring payment is received of outstanding credit
4. Ensuring all invoices and check requests are scanned into Sage Intacct
5. Prints all accounts payable checks
6. Distributes signed checks as required
7. Respond to all vendor inquires in a timely manner
8. Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and account payable files
9. Follows up on uncleared checks timely
10. Processes daily deposits including credit card processing
11. Obtain/Scan and enter new vendor W-9’s information.
12. Understand and adhere to agency policies and procedures
13. Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Two to three years’ previous experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand at a desk 90% of the day. Frequent sitting, standing, walking.
• Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written or verbal communication.
• Ability to express oneself verbally and in writing.
• Ability to use the telephone and communicate over the phone.
• Extended periods of computer use.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.
• Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Category III - Employee who rarely has contact with blood and body fluids
