Job Location: Bloomfield Hills Office - Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304
Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 SalaryAbout the Role
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing vendor accounts and processing payments accurately and efficiently. This role ensures proper documentation, timely invoice processing, and resolution of vendor inquiries. The Accounts Payable Specialist also supports the operational team, maintains accurate records, and assists with 1099 tax preparation. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are essential.
What You’ll Do
• Manage accounts payable using accounting software for separate entities and vendors.
• Process check requests on a regular basis.
• Accurately review and process vendor invoices.
• Perform data entry associated with accounts payable.
• Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies.
• Address and respond to vendor inquiries.
• Ensure proper documentation has been collected from all vendors.
• Ensure outstanding balances are updated with credit memos that are due.
• Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors.
• Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process.
• Utilize internal accounting system to prepare and file 1099 tax forms.
• Complete vendor credit applications.
• Assist operational team members in training and guiding them in accounts payable processes and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of all invoices and contracts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring
• High school diploma or Associate degree in accounting preferred.
• 2-3 years’ experience with accounts payable or general accounting.
• Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge and skills.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Knowledge of Yardi Voyager and Yardi VendorCafe preferred.
• Strong time management, organization skills, analytical abilities, and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment.
