Job Description

Are you detail-oriented and looking for a part-time opportunity in accounting and payroll? We’re seeking a reliable Accounts Payable & Payroll Clerk to assist our team and help keep our financial operations running smoothly.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, values accuracy, and thrives in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Pay Rate: $20.97-$26.74 per based on experience and qualifications

Requirements

In this role, you’ll support our Accounts Payable & Payroll functions, working closely with our existing clerk to ensure timely and accurate processing.

Accounts Payable Support:

  • Receive, review, and verify invoices for accuracy
  • Assist with coding invoices and entering them into the system
  • Maintain vendor records, including W-9 documentation
  • Help manage vendor relationships and payment schedules
  • Prepare and process payments, including manual checks when needed
  • Reconcile vendor statements and assist with resolving discrepancies
  • Support month-end accruals and audit preparation

Payroll Support:

  • Assist with processing bi-weekly payroll
  • Help manage off-cycle and termination checks
  • Maintain payroll reports and documentation
  • Track overtime, deductions, and bonuses
  • Assist employees with payroll-related questions
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping and compliance

Minimum Required Education/Experience High school diploma required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or business is preferred. Two years or previous work experience in accounting field is required. Previous work experience in healthcare accounting is preferred.

Pre-Employment Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

• Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations.

• Working knowledge of payroll processes including tax deduction requirements and other payroll related deductions.

• Advanced skill in the operation of various computer applications, standard office machines, utilizing e-mail for appropriate communication and follow-up.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.

• Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees and administration.

• Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians or others in a professional manner.

Note An acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted.

Necessary Special Requirements Must obtain annual flu vaccination and any job-specific immunizations. Required to submit to a two-step PPD test.
