Accounts Payable Officer to join our team based at our Intermodal Site.

About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of supplier and subcontractor payments, maintaining reconciled supplier accounts and supporting month-end and year-end financial activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter, code and reconcile supplier invoices for weekly, fortnightly and monthly payment runs.
  • Liaise with managers and operational teams to confirm accurate job costing and cost allocation.
  • Manage supplier accounts and ensure payments are processed accurately and within agreed terms.
  • Prepare and process monthly subcontractor payment runs.
  • Prepare ABA payment files for approval and issue remittance advices.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to supplier and subcontractor payment queries.
  • Reconcile monthly supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Complete monthly accounts payable reporting in line with the month-end timetable.
  • Assist with general ledger expense reconciliations for year-end accounts.
  • Maintain compliance with internal procedures, financial controls and audit requirements.
  • Identify and report system issues, errors and process non-conformances.
  • Support continuous improvement across accounts payable processes and systems.

About You

To succeed in this position, you will be an accurate and dependable finance professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality work. You will be comfortable managing competing priorities, meeting strict deadlines and communicating with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable Officer or similar finance position.
  • A strong understanding of end-to-end accounts payable processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with invoice processing, payment runs and supplier reconciliations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial records.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a finance team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting systems.
  • A Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field is desirable.
  • A current WA driver’s licence.
