Summary:
The Accounts Payable (AP) Manager will plan and direct all accounts payable activities of the company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage AP process from invoice receipt to issuance of payment via AvidXchange and NetSuite
- Oversee preparation of weekly AP aging reports
- Evaluate and oversee implementation of new AP systems and/or processes as needed
- Responsible for ensuring timely payments and issuing manual payments as needed
- Mentor and train accounts payable associates
- Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounts payable transactions
- Manage annual 1099 filing process
- Research and troubleshoot any invoicing or payment issues
- Identify and implement areas of improvement or automation opportunities
- Present recommendations to management on short- and long-term objectives and policies
- Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs

QualificationsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of efficient AP processes and the ability to execute process improvements when needed
- Applying logical thought processes and organizing resources in order to solve issues and meet commitments
- Making decisions and seizing opportunities in the context of business objectives
- Partnering effectively with others in order to achieve results
- Satisfying internal and external customer expectations and developing customer partnerships
- Proficiency with electronic communications including e-mail and text as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

Required Education and

Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
- 8 years or more of related experience, including at least 2 years of management experience.

Preferred Education and

Experience:
- 5 years or more of professional office experience, preferably within a fast-paced accounting department.
- 5 years or more of billing experience.
- 5 years or more experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and QuickBooks or other accounting software.
- Previous billing experience using multiple job codes and data assembly from multiple sources.
- Prior experience with AvidXchange, Expensify and/or Concur or similar systems a plus

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages the accounts payable staff who are responsible for invoice and payment processing, as well as check deposits.
- Recruits and hires staff and conducts performance evaluations.
- Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
Internal Relationships
- Communicate with operations teams to ensure expenses are properly recorded and coded in the general ledger and payments issued timely
External Relationships
- Effectively communicate with vendors

Work Environment
- The role is a hybrid position with 2-3 days in office each week.  The work is in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
- This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open file cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Travel
- This position may require periodic/minimal travel to field offices or client offices, work sites and other project related locations.
Materials, Tools, Equipment
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
