Accounts Payable Clerk

Classification: Full time, Permanent

Salary: $23.00 - $25.00

Location: Williams Lake, BC

The Tŝilhqot’in National Government is based in Williams Lake, British Columbia serving six communities, including ʔEsdilagh, Tl'etinqox, Tl'esqox, Tŝideldel, Xeni Gwet'in, and Yuneŝit'in. The Tŝilhqot’in National Government’s mission is to support and empower Tŝilhqot’in peoples to exercise their rights to self-determination within their traditional territories in ways which reflect Tŝilhqot’in philosophy, values, experience and culture.

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for a wide variety of finance administrative duties to support the Finance Manager and team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payment confirmations, for auditing and reporting purposes
  • Input financial data and assist in generating reports related to accounts payable
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payments, discrepancies, or account status
  • Prepare and issue payments (cheques, electronic transfers, etc.)
  • Update, maintain and enter information into the TNG database as required
  • Update, maintain and create filing and tracking systems and create systemic follow up process
  • Work closely with TNG finance team to support with tasks as required

Requirements

  • Previous computerized financial management experience in multi-department, multi-service organization considered an asset; however, all training will be provided
  • Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software an asset
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff in a professional and respectful manner
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office software
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality

Working Conditions

  • Travel may be required
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and additional hardware
  • Overtime as required
  • Lifting or moving up to 20lbs may be required
