Accounting is the information resource responsible for all financial aspects and record keeping. The Accounting Assistant will provide support to all aspects of the Accounting Department to meet the needs of the Company.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer phones and perform scheduled receptionist duties
- Assist Credit Manager, Accounts Payable Manager, and Office Manager as needed
- Assist with accounts receivables monthly statements
- Restock the printer, fax, copier, and other office machines with paper, toner, ribbons, etc.
- Sort and store all branch parts invoices and service repair orders, documenting their completeness and maintain their retrievability in case of customer disputes
- Open and route incoming mail and branch envelopes
- Cross train and provide back up for Accounting Assistant and Accounts Payable
- Send Corporate correspondence to other branches as needed
- Process incoming e-mailed invoices and statements
- Process Accounts Payable disbursements for mailing
- Scan and file Accounts Payable disbursement paperwork
- Maintain orderly Accounts Payable disbursement paperwork files
- Assist with Corporate in-house mail runs as needed
- Collect and distribute mail from outside mailbox

- The ability to perform basic math as well as calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and statistics
- Interact well with managers, customers, and the general public
- Must have a pleasant voice and demeanor on the phone

Education/Training or
Experience:
High School graduate or GED required
- Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent work experience in accounting
- Basic to intermediate computer skills are required
