Job title: Accounts Payable Accountant
Reporting to: Accounts Payable Team Leader
Organisation: kp Business Services, Porto #LI-HYBRID

Purpose of the job: Processing Accounts Payable (AP) activities in the Shared Service Centre (SSC)

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Handling of processes in accounts payable;
  • Receipt and audit of invoice;
  • Enter, check and post invoices with and without purchase order;
  • Support in the preparation of financial statements (month, quarter, year);
  • Execution of balance reconciliation, Accruals, etc…;
  • Account maintenance;
  • Processing of Travel & Expenses (T&E);
  • Handling of consignment stock clearing process and invoice postings;
  • Participation in continuous improvement projects;
  • Handling external and internal queries via email / phone;
  • Provide support related to annual and interim audits;
  • Perform internal audit & regular controls.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Desirable knowledge of IFRS;
  • Knowledge of accounting standards in one of the following GAAPs: Portugal, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, UK or USA;
  • 2+ years of professional experience in finance and accounting or equivalent;
  • Experience within a Shared Service Centre environment and transition.


Functional/Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field;
  • Good knowledge of English and another European language;
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, JDE, etc) and MS Office;
  • Strong Team Work skills;
  • Good analytical and Organisation skills;
  • Effective business writing and professional communication skills;
  • Ability to work in an international global work environment;
  • Team player;
  • Work effectively with people from all backgrounds, promoting inclusion and respect for diversity;
  • Build Trust and Partnerships;
  • Treat sensitive and/or confidential information appropriately.
