He angitūtanga: The opportunity

We’re looking for an organised and detail-focused Accounts Payable professional to support the delivery of efficient, accurate, and timely payment processing across all TAU business units. This role plays an important part in ensuring purchase orders and invoices are managed effectively while maintaining strong working relationships with internal teams and external suppliers. Working as part of a collaborative finance team, the position contributes to smooth financial operations by supporting transactional processes, maintaining data accuracy, and helping ensure compliance with financial controls and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing supplier invoices and payments accurately while supporting effective cashflow management and forecasting.
  • Maintaining and reconciling the accounts payable ledger, including investigating variances and resolving discrepancies.
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure timely invoice processing.
  • Managing vendor master data, shared inboxes, and month-end activities in line with financial controls and timelines.
  • Identifying process improvements and supporting updates to accounts payable procedures and best-practice standards.

Success in this role comes from a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service and maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing deadlines with confidence. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to build positive working relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers, are essential to ensuring smooth and effective accounts payable operations.

To be successful in this role, candidates will ideally bring:

  • An accounting-related tertiary qualification.
  • At least two years’ relevant transactional or accounts payable experience.
  • Experience working with large ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, with a solid understanding of AP controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills (experience with Momentus is advantageous but not essential).
