We have an opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join the Mission Estate Team, based in Taradale. The role is integral in supporting day‑to‑day finance operations while also assisting to deliver a great experience for our customers and internal teams.
About the Role
Sitting in our finance team, this role plays a key part in keeping our customer and supplier accounts running smoothly. The role is a permanent part‑time (25-30 hours per week), Monday to Friday, with some flexibility.
On a typical week, you will:
· Process daily customer orders and prepare accurate invoices
· Respond proactively to queries from Sales Representatives and customers
· Monitor aged debtors and follow up overdue accounts to support healthy cashflow
· Assist the Accounts Administrator with a range of accounts payable tasks, including coding and processing invoices
· Complete daily cash receipt reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as they arise
About You
You’ll thrive in this varied role if you’re organised, proactive, and have an approachable style. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with both numbers and people.
Ideally, you will have:
· Proven experience in finance administration or accounts support
· A solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
· Confidence using Xero is a must; some exposure to NetSuite or a similar ERP would be an advantage
· The ability to work independently, use initiative, and manage competing priorities
· Be timely and proactive with a positive, hands‑on attitude and willingness to learn
· Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel), plus Word and Outlook
· Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
· Great communication skills and confidence building relationships across the business
· Some experience in the wine industry or FMCG is a bonus, but not essential
