About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join Baileys Marine Fuels Australia (BMFA) in a permanent, full-time position based in Fremantle, Perth Reporting to the National Manager, you will play a key role in driving the financial performance of the business through financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, commercial analysis, and strategic decision support. Working closely with operational and commercial stakeholders, you will provide valuable insights that support informed decision-making while ensuring strong financial governance and compliance. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, providing flexibility while maintaining close collaboration with the broader team and business leaders.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership to drive business performance and strategic objectives.
  • Oversee financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and budget analysis.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support business growth.
  • Deliver financial modelling and insights to support strategic and commercial decisions.
  • Manage cash flow, pricing updates, and sales and stock reconciliations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Identify business trends, market opportunities, and process improvements to drive performance.
  • Lead the administration function, including coaching and supporting a high-performing team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting.
  • CPA or CA qualified, or working towards completion.
  • Proven people leadership experience with a track record of delivering results through high-performing teams.
  • Strong experience preparing, analysing, and interpreting financial reports.
  • Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to identify trends, generate insights, and support informed decision-making.
  • Adaptable and solutions-focused, with the ability to thrive in changing environments.
  • Excellent reporting and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to a range of stakeholders.

We supply Australia's largest branded petrol and convenience network as well as refining, importing and marketing fuels and lubricants. This includes our Trading and Shipping business that operates out of Singapore and Houston in the USA, and our international storage positions across the Asia Pacific region and North America. Ampol also owns a 20% equity interest in Seaoil, a leading independent fuel company in the Philippines.
