The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Central Region is looking for an Accounting Technician 1 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
This position is one of a group of two responsible for processing all Central Region Time & Equipment timesheets (T&E) in the IRIS system using the creation, completion, review, and approval of ICT documents. It will also provide support to the Budget Section`s Administrative Officer 1, and Budget Analyst 2 in the review of financial activities within the Design, Engineering and Construction components for Central Region, and other regions, divisions and Statewide components as needed.
The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Central Region, DE&C and Support Services division, Budget Section provides various administrative and budget support to the Region of employees who work to Keep Alaska Moving.

This position resides in the DOT&PF Central Region Headquarters building at 4111 Aviation Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska. It is easily accessible by a paved multi-use path and bus routes 40 and 65. Located on the shore of the beautiful Lake Hood Seaplane Base near Ted Stevens International Airport. Office hours are flexible. The option to telework is available for this position upon completion of probationary period, in accordance with current department policies. As a side benefit, you will have easy access to bike & walking trails around Lake Hood.

One year of clerical work experience maintaining records that included using computer systems and performing basic arithmetic calculations.
Substitutions:
Successful completion of a formal vocational education program in accounting or bookkeeping will substitute for the required experience.
Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month).
