Job Description

The Accounting Team Leader is a key member of Foundever's Finance organization, based in the Shared Service Center (SSC) in Sofia, Bulgaria, and reports to the Accounting Manager, SSC. The role leads a team of accountants in delivering timely and accurate month-, quarter- and year-end closes under IFRS, US GAAP and local GAAP. It includes reviewing and posting General Ledger, AP and AR journals, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting statutory reporting. The Team Leader works closely with the Business Unit, Country Controllers, the Global Finance Team and external auditors. They also provide feedback and formal assessment to their direct reports and drive process improvements across the team.

Job Responsibilities

• Review and post all AP, AR and General Ledger journals and ensure their accuracy, correct authorization and maintenance of relevant supporting evidence
• Prepare accurate US GAAP, IFRS and Management Accounts in adherence to the Month-, Quarter- and Year- End Global Close Schedule
• Support the preparation of accurate Statutory Accounts in adherence to the statutory deadlines
• Close liaise with the Business Unit to ensure a good understanding of business developments
• Reviews accruals, reconciliations and analysis of the company accounts on a monthly basis and ensures their timely preparation
• Apply Foundever standards and comply with Foundever Accounting and Reporting Guidelines and local GAAP and IFRS
• Provide feedback and formal assessment to the other team members, who are reporting to the team lead

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
• Actively studying towards or have obtained CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification
• 2-3 years directly related work experience
• Previous experience with shared service centers is an advantage
• Knowledge of local GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP
• Knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting and internal control procedures
• Excellent conversational and written knowledge in English
• Excellent conversational and written knowledge in French
• Excellent knowledge of MS office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Previous experience with ERP where SAP experience is an advantage
• Analytical skills with attention to details and accuracy
• Self-motivated, proactive and disciplined
• Ability to multitask to meet deadlines; delivery focused
• Willingness to drive and own processes
• Ability to assess, recommend and implement process improvements
• Customer focused
• Good presentation and communication skills
• Business travel is required during the deployment stage of the project and possibly during annual audits.
