Job Description

Inside the Role

The Accounting team is the foundation of the Remanufacturing Business Unit and directly impacts the liquidity and financial health of the organization. The team is responsible for Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and general accounting activities, including the recording of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and ensuring the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.

In addition, the team is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining effective internal controls across the Business Unit to mitigate financial and operational risks, ensure compliance with Daimler Truck company policies and requirements, support audit readiness, and promote the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
Supervise the accounting team associates and oversees accounting operations supporting the Remanufacturing business unit. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records through general accounting activities, reconciliations, transaction review, and compliance with company policies and accounting principles.

Partners with cross-functional departments to support financial processes, internal controls, audit activities, process improvements, and business initiatives. Provides guidance to team members while driving efficient, standardized, and well-documented accounting practices.

Position offers a starting salary range of $71,000 – $91,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Leads, coaches, and develops a team of accounting associates
  • Provides training, guidance, and support to ensure accurate and timely completion of accounting activities
  • Supports onboarding, knowledge transfer, and cross-training initiatives

Accounting Operations

  • Performs and oversees general accounting activities, including preparation and reconciliation of ledger accounts
  • Oversees Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring timely transaction processing, accurate recordkeeping, and compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Prepares, records, analyzes, and reports accounting transactions while ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Reviews and approves accounting transactions and supporting documentation
  • Prepares account reconciliations and assists with month-end close activities
  • Oversee customer credit limit review and maintenance processes
  • Partners with business stakeholders and leadership to evaluate customer credit risk and provide recommendations to resolve issues impacting collections

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Supports the design, documentation, maintenance, and monitoring of internal controls
  • Maintains process documentation and assists in identifying opportunities to strengthen controls and improve compliance

Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Support

  • Participates in projects and continuous improvement initiatives impacting accounting and business processes
  • Collaborates with Finance, Materials, Operations, and other business partners to resolve issues and improve process effectiveness
  • Assists in developing standardized procedures, documentation, and reporting to support operational and financial objectives

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field, and 2-4 years of relevant experience; or 6 years relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience leading or mentoring others
  • AP/AR experience
  • General ledger and reconciliation experience
  • Internal controls exposure
  • Strong Excel skills
  • An attached resume is required

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Experience with Microsoft and SAP ERPs
  • Exposure to the audit process
  • Familiarity with Balance Sheets
