Douglas County is seeking a detail-oriented professional for either an Accounting Specialist II or a Senior Accounting Specialist. Whether supporting Countywide Accounts Payable and Purchasing Card operations or managing complex reconciliations, revenue balancing, payroll support and financial reporting, you’ll play an essential role in maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening internal controls and ensuring responsible stewardship of public funds. Classification (level) and compensation is based on qualifications and experience as it relates to the position.
Accounting Specialist II: Generally, the hiring range is $45,979 - $57,474 annually.
Senior Accounting Specialist: Generally, the hiring range is $48,906 - $61,133 annually.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Accounting Specialist II:High school diploma or GED supplemented by coursework or training in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.Two (2) years of experience performing accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, financial processing, or closely related administrative work. A combination of education and experience may be considered.Senior Accounting Specialist: A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or similar field preferred.Three (3) years of experience with financial recordkeeping, reconciliation, and journal/ledger entries required.A combination of education and experience may be considered.
