The Accounting specialist II reports to the Accounting Manager. Their primary focus is generating day-to-day accounting entries, preparing reconciliations, and assisting the Finance Team as it pertains to business needs. They are accountable for learning and understanding the interdependencies between the accounting workflow processes and how they impact other departments in meeting their monthly closing goals. They must develop a functional and collaborative working relationship with other departments to facilitate information sharing and to understand who their internal customers are and what their needs are.

Vertech is growing quickly and integrating systems with our parent company located in Korea, to improve accuracy and efficiency of all financial transactions and processes. The person in this role needs to be flexible and willing to take on additional tasks as needed in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the timely analysis and reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts
  • Research discrepancies in variance analysis and meet with business partners to understand key drivers
  • Accurately process GL postings and make adjustments where required; proactively follow up on any items that need adjustment
  • Supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed
  • Other projects as assigned such as participating in the systems integration, reorganizing information, and gathering data and reports for auditors
  • Organizing and maintaining financial documents for audits and reviews
  • Answer general accounting inquiries from internal stakeholders
  • Create CAPEX projects within company ERP
  • Assists with record retention and organization of the Accounting Department.

Key Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Attitudes

  • Knowledge of ERP/Accounting software
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, Microsoft Office
  • Experience in AP
  • General knowledge of Fixed Assets
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Good communication skills
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Critical thinker who gathers and analyzes pertinent details before making a decision or drawing a conclusion
  • Ability to accept and adapt to a changing environment

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent work experience
  • Basic knowledge of GAAP required
  • 1-3 years’ experience in accounting
