We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team. This newly created role within our Joint Venture organization will focus on General Ledger accounting activities while supporting Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, offering the opportunity to help build processes, shape ways of working, and contribute to a growing business.

This job is based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. We provide a flexible working schedule with the option of working hybrid.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

  • Own and manage accounting processes related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger activities.
  • Perform and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation to maintain financial integrity.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate financial records while identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and outstanding items.
  • Support invoice processing, payment activities, customer invoicing, and cash collection processes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external business partners to ensure smooth execution of accounting activities.
  • Take ownership of assigned accounting processes and drive their standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new accounting procedures and controls as the organization continues to grow.
  • Support financial reporting activities and provide analysis and insights as required by management.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and help establish scalable accounting practices that support future business growth.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of General Ledger accounting processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Ability to take ownership of processes and work independently in a growing and evolving environment.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes is considered a plus.
  • Experience working in a growing organization, new business, or process transition environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to build, optimize, and document processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in an environment where processes are still being developed and refined.
