Report to Head of Accounting, Japan


Tasks

Accounting

  • Timely and accurate preparation and maintenance of all financial statements and internal reports complying with group requirement, German GAAP and Japan GAAP with updating new accounting and tax requirement
  • Ensure monthly and quarterly closing process and accounting report package (Key contacts: Controlling as managerial accounting team (Japan and India), Thailand and Finance operation team, and German Headquarter accounting function)
  • Manage external and internal auditor
  • ERP (SAP) user test and implementation of S4 hana under the responsible area
  • External contact includes:
    • MAHLE affiliates on all intercompany reconciliations
    • Managerial accounting team (BU controllers) in Japan for inventory, costing, accruals, company valuations, etc
    • External and internal auditors on audit planning and execution

Tax

  • Manage tax return process with Head of Accounting
  • Communicate with external tax professionals including tax return, international tax matters
  • Tax topics include withholding tax, consumption tax, and transfer pricing

Education and experience level

  • University Bachelor degree or above is mandatory
  • 8 years+ accounting experience is mandatory
  • Hands-on experience in SAP is strongly preferred
  • Holding of CPA and/or licensed tax accountant is preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing industry is plus

Language Skills and Qualifications
Fluent Japanese and business English language skills
