Job Duties
The Accounting Specialist supports the Finance Team for many of the daily financial transactions at OneWorld Community Health Centers. The Accounting Specialist works in collaboration with various departments within the organization to ensure financial accuracy.  The primary focus areas are cash receipts, invoicing of vendors and contractors, general ledger posting, assistance with financial reporting, and the preparation and maintenance of spreadsheets.
-  Deposit Entry:  Posts receipts from a variety of sources daily.
- Cash Activity:  Balances the cash activity daily.
- Grant Tracking:  Compiles and updates reports to assist in the grant-tracking and billing process.
- Invoicing:  Create invoices monthly, quarterly, annually, and as needed.  Submits the invoices according to the deadlines of the grant or contract.
- Accounts Receivable:  Monitors aging of A/R.
- General Ledger:  Records monthly journal entries as assigned.
- Account Reconciliations:  Balances assigned G/L accounts monthly.

Qualifications
- Associates degree in accounting, business or related field OR equivalent work experience required.
- Prior experience in a non-profit and/or healthcare setting preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and in the use of accounting, spreadsheet, and other business software is required.  Proficiency in Sage 100 preferred.
- Prior experience in General Ledger maintenance required.
- Prior experience preparing payroll reconciliation and completing other accounting tasks with a high degree of accuracy required.
- Strong analytical skills required.
- Ability to be bonded required.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, organize, and complete tasks with minimal to moderate supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and judgement, consistently meet deadlines, handle rush projects, manage multiple priorities, and meet time constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with diverse individuals and groups.
