BUSINESS SUPPORT PROGRAM

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT/PAYROLL AND RECONCILIATION

This position is under the Executive Direction and Business Support Branch in the Bureau of Financial Management. This is a full-time position that requires the ability to perform all payroll related accounting functions in the Revenue Reporting/Reconciliations, Quality Control, and Payroll Section.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Handling all aspects related to biweekly payroll, supplemental payroll, CJIP payroll, uniform allowance, and leave payouts;
  • Performing payroll audits and reconciliations, monitoring leave without pay, cancelling warrants, and ensuring salary overpayments are collected;
  • Performing all payroll related accounting functions, preparing payroll reports, and paying payroll invoices;
  • Investigating, assessing, analyzing and making recommendations to resolve payroll issues;
  • Providing daily consultation and assistance to management and members for all agency payroll services; and
  • Reconciling accounts between Departmental and Central FLAIR, Revolving Funds, user audits for various systems, DUI and Local Lab fines reports, and signature card audits.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication;
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures;
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program;
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; and
  • Ability to use computer software skills, including beginner skills in database/spreadsheet software, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Word.

BASE SALARY:

  • $52,530.14

NOTES:

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
