Job Description

MacLean-Fogg is hiring an Accounting Representative 2 at our Mundelein, Illinois location. In this role, you will support core accounting operations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial close activities, and reporting. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager and cross-functional partners to help maintain accurate, compliant financial records.

  • Location: Mundelein, IL

  • Work Arrangement: On-site

  • Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

  • Pay: $30-$32/hour

  • Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly

  • Overtime: Occasional overtime may be required.

What You'll Do as an Accounting Representative II

  • Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial transactions accurately and in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Reconcile accounts and prepare journal entries while maintaining appropriate supporting documentation.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial close activities, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.

  • Monitor financial records, invoices, and statements to identify, track, and resolve discrepancies.

  • Prepare and maintain detailed financial records and reports that support the accounting department.

  • Support the Accounting Manager with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis.

  • Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to clarify payment details, resolve account issues, and respond to inquiries.

  • Support audit activities by providing requested documentation and contribute to process improvements that enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree.

  • 2+ years of accounting experience.

  • Proficiency with accounting software, such as Dayforce or Oracle, as well as Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Experience working with ERP systems.

  • Strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for working with internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of industry-specific accounting practices and compliance requirements.
