The Accounting and Reporting Manager is responsible for working with the Financial Controller to oversee the financial reporting process of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and ensuring that the overall financial reporting process for the business is robust and integrated. This role will work closely with the finance leadership team and the group team as part of their role.

Key Deliverables
- Fully reconciled and validated fixed asset register.
- Clear capitalisation policy in place.
- Clean historic WIP and CAPEX balances.
- Improved audit trail and reduced audit adjustments.
- Strengthened monthly fixed asset reporting pack.
- Embedded governance framework to prevent recurrence of legacy issues.
Key responsibility areas
Fixed Asset Roadmap Delivery
- Lead the end-to-end fixed asset improvement programme.
- Develop and execute a structured plan to cleanse and validate the existing asset register.
- Identify historic errors, misclassifications and incomplete records and resolve them methodically.
- Implement clear asset categorisation aligned to IFRS and Group reporting requirements.
- Establish robust capitalisation policies and practical guidance for operational teams.
Capital Expenditure Governance
- Partner with operational leaders to improve CAPEX approval, tracking and reporting.
- Ensure projects are capitalised accurately and in a timely manner.
- Improve visibility of work-in-progress (WIP) and project close-out processes.
- Introduce clearer documentation standards to support audit requirements
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is accurate and complete.
- Manage general ledger and deliver accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Own and manage the statutory accounts process for DFL
- Responsible for performing balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Responsible for preparing corporate tax returns, working with group tax team to analyse, review and finalise
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage tax filings and audits
- Responsible for cash reconciliations, cashflow, interest payments
Systems & process Improvement
- Work with finance systems teams to improve fixed asset module functionality.
- Drive automation where possible to reduce manual intervention.
- Improve data integrity and reporting capability across the Group
Stakeholder management
- Act as the key point of contact for fixed asset matters across Dyson Farming.
- Partner with operations and cross functional teams
- Present progress updates and risk summaries to senior leadership .
- Build awareness and understanding of capitalisation policy across non-finance teams.
Person Specification
– Technical Skills - Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, CIA, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting.
- Strong technical knowledge of fixed asset accounting and capitalisation rules.
- Experience leading accounting clean-up or transformation programmes.
- Proven ability to reconcile complex historic balance
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulations
Desirable but not essential
- Experience in the agriculture or farming industry
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software.
