Accounting Manager, Product Costing at a Glance….
Our Accounting team is looking for a Manager to lead the Product Costing group in the monthly close process for complex external manufacturing locations, which includes overseeing product costing transactions and processes for all US and CAN external manufacturing locations. As a Manager, you will help identify process improvement needs within the team and implement corrective actions. This person will also help ensure the appropriate design and operating effectiveness of the internal control and policy/procedural environments governing operational and transactional accounting.

What’s on the menu?

  • Provide oversight and guidance to the external manufacturing finance team to ensure procedures and controls are adhered to
  • Review of analysts and senior analysts work during the monthly close process, including inventory reconciliations and true-ups, journal entry preparation, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Help develop new processes, systems and/or policies (from an accounting/controls perspective) as needed by the business to support growth, business change, and/or “continuous improvement” initiatives
  • Partner with cross functional teams including: Supply Chain Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Inventory Controls
  • Support all financial related audits including compliance, internal, external, and SOX
  • Draft and/or update existing financial, accounting and other business policies, including technical accounting guidance, as needed, to support the business
  • Directly manages 3 direct reports (analyst and senior analyst staff), including general hiring and training, assigning and directing work, and appraising performance
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities and a team attitude
  • Identifies needs within the organization and addresses them
  • Maintains meaningful and current training documentation
  • Partners with Sr. Mgr. and MU Mgr. in decision making that affects the entire Product Costing Team
  • Oversees month end close tasks and assists analysts as issues arise
  • Is a subject matter expert within the organization
  • Leads process improvement teams
  • Ensures accurate and complete month-end Cycle Count packets for our EM locations
  • Approves 20 team JEs per month, as required
  • Reviews and approves 10 - 20 Blackline reconciliations per month, as required

  • Accounting or Finance Degree required
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a complex environment with escalating levels of responsibility
  • Superior written and oral communication skills with proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to show initiative and make impactful decisions
  • Strong understanding of internal controls
  • Advanced abilities in Excel and PowerPoint. Power BI, Tableau and Snowflake experience a plus
  • Technology savvy with demonstrated ability to learn systems and processes quickly
  • Cost accounting experience and SAP knowledge strongly desired

New Hire Base Salary Range:

$104,200.00 - $130,200.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
