Compensation:

New hires for this position typically start between$84 466.11 and $112 621.49hourlyannually, depending on factors such as work location, experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, internal equity,and market conditions While the full pay range is provided to support pay transparency, individual compensation will vary within the range based on these factors.

What you'll do

The primary responsibilities of the Accounting Manager are to direct, coordinate and control accounting activities in their areas of assigned responsibility, identify areas for process improvement and apply solutions as needed.

PRIMARY/ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll Oversight and Processing

  • Oversee and process semi-monthly payroll process using ADP Workforce Now
  • Review and audit timecards, hours, and pay data prior to payroll submission
  • Manage off-cycle payroll runs for terminations, bonuses, and corrections
  • Ensure accurate and compliant calculation of gross-to-net pay, including overtime, shift differentials, incentives and PTO
  • Manage 403(b), FSA, HSA, garnishments and other pre/post-tax deductions
  • Serve as primary ADP payroll system administrator to configure and maintain earnings codes, deduction codes, and pay rules
  • Generate and customize payroll reports to support strategic decision making, such as labor cost reports, headcount summaries, and overtime analysis
  • Manage year-end processes including W-2 and W-2c preparation and distribution
  • Maintain compliance with FLSA, ACA, garnishment laws, and multi-state payroll regulations
  • Establish and document payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Serve as subject matter expert for payroll regulations and best practices, suggesting and implementing system improvements when appropriate

Accounts Payable Management & General Duties

  • Monitor full cycle AP process from PO to Payment
  • Form productive relationships with vendors, review and negotiate opportunities for payment term discounts
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and Legal on system upgrades, integrations, and audits
  • Timely corrects any significant and/or systemic deviations from industry best practices and implement policy updates
  • Assists in monthly financial statement review to ensure timely month end close
  • Contributes to fiscal year-end audit and grant monitoring procedures
  • Safeguards company assets as assigned
  • Provides leadership, coaching and development support to staff including performance reviews and training procedure documentation
  • Some evening or weekend work may be required
  • Performs other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or a related subject or equivalent experience
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • 5 years accounting or payroll processing experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills both internal and external
  • Solution and efficiency focused, able to effectively manage time and work well under tight deadlines

PREFERRED/DESIRABLE

  • Three or more years of supervisory experience
  • Certified Payroll Professional
  • Experience with payroll software implementation, digital integration and complex workforces
