About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on and business-oriented Accounting Manager / Jr. Controller to support and oversee day-to-day accounting operations while partnering closely with leadership on financial reporting, controls, and process improvement initiatives.

This position is ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation who is ready to take ownership of the accounting function in a fast-paced and growing environment. The role requires a combination of technical accounting expertise, operational leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to drive improvements across processes and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading accounting activities under U.S. GAAP, managing month-end close processes, supporting audits, and mentoring team members, while maintaining a proactive and detail-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger activities, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to provide insights for business decisions.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies within the accounting function.
• Partner cross-functionally with operational and finance teams to support strategic initiatives and business growth.
• Coordinate and support external audit requirements and requests.
• Mentor and support junior accounting staff, helping drive accountability and professional development within the team.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills and accounting systems to analyze financial data and improve reporting capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with the VP of Accounting on special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within multinational or fast-paced environments.
• Previous experience in a Senior Accountant, Accounting Lead, Accounting Supervisor, Accounting Manager, or Jr. Controller-type role.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience overseeing accounting operations and supporting financial reporting activities.
• Proven ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across teams.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, and financial data analysis.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience with ERP systems; Yardi experience is highly preferred.
• Preferred industry background: Real Estate, Senior Housing, Hospitality, Healthcare, or other service-driven industries.
