The International and Channel Development Accounting team covers a broad number of roles including accounting operational support for the US and international business units. This team provides services and acts as a support function, including billing, royalties and other accounting functions for the local accounting and finance teams abroad. They support both regional specific and global initiatives, execution of key financial controls to mitigate against any risks in the US GAAP financial statements and other compliance support related to statutory reporting and adherence to Starbucks policies. This team is undergoing a strategy shift to ensure compliance with leadership automation goals, redefined customer service expectations and continual process improvement. This role will provide hands-on leadership and guidance on how to operationalize new work prioritized by the Company while ensuring expectations are met/exceeded with transformative results.

As an accounting manager, you will…

• Manage others – You will set goals for the work team and actively providing partners with coaching, feedback and development opportunities and modeling leadership behavior for the larger team.
• Innovate - lead the team in process improvement and new ways of working, including automation, value-creation while creatively solving for new initiatives.
• Enjoy working on an energetic, fun team - have a clear ability to drive the business forward as part of a highly collaborative team, while acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

We’d love to hear from people with:

• Experience providing inspirational leadership to communicate vision and strategy for the accounting team; creating a positive team environment including confidence in leadership and teamwork to achieve business results.
• Ability to identify key risks and opportunities and works cross functionally to provide solutions that drive process improvements and strengthen the control environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate accounting results to both accounting and non accounting customers at various levels of the organization.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
