Job Role

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading the company's accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, treasury management, and financial control functions within Malaysia. This role will play a key part in supporting business establishment activities, building local financial infrastructure, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining accurate financial reporting in accordance with statutory and corporate requirements.

Working closely with local stakeholders, external advisors, and regional management, the successful candidate will oversee day-to-day accounting operations while supporting long-term business growth through strong financial governance and operational controls. This position requires a hands-on finance professional capable of operating independently within a dynamic multinational environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, treasury activities, and financial management functions for the Malaysia business.
  • Support corporate establishment activities, including regulatory registrations, financial system implementation, and operational setup requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, financial procedures, and risk management frameworks.
  • Manage general ledger activities, bookkeeping processes, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and corporate governance policies.
  • Oversee corporate tax filings, indirect tax compliance, and coordination with relevant government authorities and regulatory bodies.
  • Manage banking relationships, treasury operations, cash flow monitoring, and financial planning activities.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, corporate secretarial firms, and financial institutions to support compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with regional and headquarters finance teams to ensure alignment with group reporting standards and financial consolidation requirements.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related disciplines.
  • Professional certification such as MIA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, financial reporting, tax, or corporate finance functions.
  • Prior experience within FMCG, manufacturing, consumer goods, or related industries is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing full-cycle accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and tax-related activities.
  • Experience supporting company establishment, finance transformation projects, accounting system implementation, or business setup activities is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of Malaysian accounting standards, corporate taxation, SST regulations, statutory compliance requirements, and financial governance practices.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and financial software, including SAP, Oracle, or other enterprise-level accounting platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of treasury management, cash flow planning, internal controls, and financial risk management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and financial reporting skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities with experience coordinating external auditors, consultants, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail in handling confidential financial information.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced multinational business environment.
  • Professional fluency in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken.
