About the Opportunity

A well-established, publicly traded manufacturing company headquartered in New York City is seeking a sharp and experienced Accounting Manager to join its financial reporting team. This is a full-time, on-site role reporting five days per week from the company's New York office.

What You Will Do

• The Accounting Manager will play a key leadership role in supporting the company's external and internal reporting obligations.
• Responsibilities will include managing and overseeing SEC reporting requirements, including the preparation and coordination of the company's annual 10-K and quarterly 10-Q filings.
• This individual will lead the preparation and review of financial statements, oversee the company's broader financial reporting function, and may manage a small team of accounting professionals.
• The right candidate will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and technical level and who can drive results in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.

What We Are Looking For

• The ideal candidate brings a minimum of seven years of progressive accounting experience.
• While the company will consider candidates who come directly from public accounting, the strongest candidates will bring a combined public and private industry background, with demonstrated experience supporting the financial reporting function of a publicly traded company.
• Candidates with experience in the manufacturing sector are strongly encouraged to apply.
• A CPA designation is required for this role.
• Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, as this individual will be expected to collaborate across functions, interface with senior stakeholders, and mentor junior team members.
• A proactive mindset, a commitment to technical excellence, and the drive to grow within an organization are equally important.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, candidates who bring hands-on exposure to complex accounting standards, including ASC 470 (debt), ASC 842 (leases), or ASC 606 (revenue recognition), will be viewed as particularly competitive. Experience working within large enterprise resource planning systems such as Oracle or SAP is also a meaningful differentiator and will be viewed as a strong plus.
