About our property:

The iconic Arizona Biltmore is located in the heart of the prestigious Biltmore neighborhood in Phoenix. The resort was named the “Jewel of the Desert” since its opening on February 23, 1929. This gorgeous 39-acre property reopened in May 2021 after undergoing a $150 million restoration. It has over 700 rooms, over 200,000 square feet in banquet space spread out over the beautiful property, 9 food and beverage outlets (including 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 poolside bars, a gelato shop/café, and in-room dining), a luxury spa, and 7 pools including a 65' waterslide. What you will have an opportunity to do:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for supporting Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger, Cash Management, and Financial Reporting functions. This position serves as a financial steward of the business by ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, effective internal controls, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

  • Lead and coordinate month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.

  • Review monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness.

  • Analyze financial results and identify trends, risks, opportunities, and unusual variances requiring management attention.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, USALI, corporate accounting policies, and ownership reporting requirements.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reviews, forecasts, and annual operating budgets.

Accounting Operations

  • Oversee daily Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Cashiering, and General Ledger activities.

  • Ensure timely billing, collections, payment processing, account reconciliations, and cash management activities.

  • Review aging reports and implement strategies to improve collections and reduce outstanding balances.

  • Monitor payroll to ensure proper labor cost allocation.

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policy.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain a strong system of internal controls designed to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risk.

  • Monitor compliance related to cash handling, purchasing, inventory controls, payroll administration, and capital expenditures.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits and lead efforts to resolve findings and implement corrective actions.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements, licensing requirements, and regulatory obligations.

Financial Partnership & Operational Support

  • Partner with department leaders to improve financial performance and drive accountability for results.

  • Support operational leaders through financial analysis, productivity reviews, and profitability assessments.

  • Provide guidance and recommendations regarding cost containment, revenue enhancement, and process efficiencies.

  • Assist with ownership reporting, capital project tracking, and special financial analyses as required.

Process Improvement & Special Projects

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve controls, and leverage technology to increase efficiency.

  • Participate in system implementations, upgrades, and special projects.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within accounting and finance operations.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Comply with all safety, security, and emergency procedures and maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and employee information.

What are we looking for?

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including financial statement preparation and balance sheet reconciliations. Minimum 1 to 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
