The position is responsible for overseeing the accounting, statutory, management reporting, forecast, budgeting, payroll-related matters, and compliance activities for assigned entities in APAC. The entity portfolio may include Singapore, Brunei, Australia, China, and/or other regional entities, and may be adjusted from time to time based on business needs and team structure.

The role ensures that accounting records are maintained accurately and in accordance with Group accounting policies, IFRS, local GAAP, and regulatory requirements. The Accounting Manager will also manage and supervise accounting activities across GL, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, AR, and related shared services processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full spectrum of accounting activities for assigned APAC entities, which may include Singapore, Brunei, Australia, China, and/or other entities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing in line with Group reporting timelines, accounting policies, IFRS, local GAAP, and statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with internal/external auditors, company secretary, banks, government agencies, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Manage and supervise the accounting team, provide clear guidance, review team output, and ensure deliverables meet required quality standards.
  • Prepare and monitor shared services budgets and related cost allocations, ensureing allocations are reasonable, transparent, and aligned with Group/business requirements.
  • Support business lines, controllers, and management with financial analysis, accounting insights, and ad-hoc reporting needs.
  • Oversee payroll computation, payroll-related accounting entries, reconciliations, accruals, and reporting for assigned entities.
  • Participate in regional or Group finance projects, including process improvement, system implementation, reporting enhancement, and compliance initiatives.
  • Support changes in entity scope, reporting requirements, and finance processes as required by business needs.

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Accountancy. Professional accounting qualification is preferred.
  • Experience/Technical skills:
    • Minimum 7 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, including managing multiple legal entities and an accounting team.
    • Strong accounting knowledge, including review of complex accounting entries and reconciliations, IFRS, statutory reporting, and local compliance requirements.
    • Good knowledge of Singapore payroll calculations and payroll-related compliance, especially for foreign employees.
    • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, statutory audit coordination, internal controls, management reporting, and compliance.
    • Experience in shared services environment and managing GL, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, and AR processes.
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills & familiarity with ERP/accounting systems
  • Key competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership and people management skills, high integrity, ownership, accountability, positive attitude, and proactive.
  • Language: Good command of English, with confidence in dealing with senior overseas stakeholders.
