Job Description

The accounting manager plays an important role in supporting the Controller with the financial management of HYTORC Corporate operations. The position contributes to the accuracy, transparency, and efficiency of the company’s financial processes.

This role will supervise the accounting department and manage key accounting activities including month-end close processes, general ledger reconciliations and variance analysis, month-end and year-end close, financial statements preparation including intercompany eliminations. The accounting manager will be the lead person for the year-end consolidated audit with heavy interaction with external auditors. There will also be some budgeting/forecasting functions included in the tasks. The position requires regular interaction with HYTORC controller and CFO as well as international finance teams to ensure alignment with group reporting and financial requirements.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journals and reconciliations
  • Preparation and review of balance sheet and p/l accounts reconciliations
  • Overseeing lease accounting to ensure compliance with ASC842 including preparation of capital vs operating lease assessments and LeaseCrunch database maintenance.
  • Overseeing fixed assets accounting to ensure compliance with HYTORC capitalization policies, including preparation of ad-hoc fixed asset variance analysis.
  • Preparation of various annual reserves calculations including allowance for doubtful accounts, sales return reserve and rental credits reserve.
  • Oversee annual audit process.
  • Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting standards with emphasis an proper recognition from customer transactions (ASC 606)
  • Maintain accurate accounting records across SAP and other finance systems
  • Liaise with international finance teams regarding reporting and financial matters including intercompany balance confirmations and preparation of monthly elimination entries for nine international subsidiaries
  • Assist with process improvements and strengthening financial controls
  • Provide support to the CFO and Controller on ad-hoc financial analysis and SAP system improvement projects
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Train and develop accounting personnel for succession planning.
  • Primary point of contact for technical accounting questions and SAP b1 accounting system questions for A/R, A/P and billing team.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

  • Thorough knowledge of audit procedures, including planning techniques, testing, and sampling methods, ability to analyze and gather facts on business processes.
  • 5-10 years’ work experience in a similar management role, international experience is desired
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills, able to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Preferred certifications (CPA or equivalent)
  • Experience with month-end processes and variance analysis
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (SAP is a plus) and advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey accounting and financial information to department heads and stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate with international teams across multiple time zones
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify and improve processes
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

This position reports directly to the Controller and has a primary function of supporting the Finance team. The success of this position will depend on developing strong working relationships with the following parties.
