of This Role
Working under the direction of the Accounting Department Head, this position will hold a key role as the shared services operations manager. Responsibilities include leading accounting projects, process optimization, SOX compliance, and quality assurance for the global shared services accounting operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from a reputable college or university.
Minimum of (10) years combined work experience in accounting and audit.
Must have solid leadership experience from previous supervisory roles.
Proficient in MS Office tools for data analysis and reporting.
Fluent in English – as used in effective verbal and written communications.
Willing to work onsite in Vertis North Quezon City
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant
Exposure to multinational and shared service accounting operations will be helpful
Project Management certification
Experienced in using Oracle ERP and working in Microsoft environment
Shared Services Operations Management
Assist the Department Head in coordinating the day-to-day operations and administrative needs of the shared services and ensuring delivery of high quality services and standards.
Accounting Projects Execution and Monitoring
Work with stakeholders, business partners and accounting subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand the project plan, requirements, scope.
Manage projects from initiation to post implementation, ensuring that roles and responsibilities are appropriately assigned and activities are performed in accordance with agreed timelines.
Assist in arranging resources and scheduling tasks to fit the overall scope of work and timelines.
Analyze how a project fits into or change the existing processes and workflows; and be able to draft the path from the current state to future state.
Assess risks and identify mitigation plans and controls.
Handle reporting and communication of progress and deliverables.
Ensure complete documentation throughout the period.
Process Optimization
Lead systematic review of accounting processes and workflows.
Lead the analysis and design/re-design of selected accounting processes.
Work with the process SMEs in arriving at documentation of the accounting processes.
Understand how the accounting tools work, their interconnectivity, and come up with recommendations on how to maximize its uses.
Assist in analyzing operational performance and implementing data and tools to increase efficiencies.
Assist to develop sustainable and scalable accounting processes.
Quality Assurance
Assist in formulating the department scorecards and implement effective means to gauge process and people effectiveness.
Analyze operational issues encountered on a day-to-day basis and assist in coming up with a sustainable solution that can be embedded in process workflows.
Develop and publish reports based on metrics identified.
SOX Compliance
Pro-active identify control gaps that may arise in the course of projects, process changes, and process improvements.
Ensure that internal controls are embedded within the workflow to ensure operational risks are addressed at the appropriate points.
Perform regular training and monitoring activities such as independent walkthroughs or audit testing as to the department’s SOX compliance.
