The VGCA Accounting Shared Services Centre provides essential back office back-office accounting functions for General Ledger, Inventory, Accounts Receivable and Affiliates, Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets for multiple VW Group Companies including Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, Chattanooga factory production, and electric vehicle infrastructure in Canada as well as in the United States.

The Parts Accounting Manager is responsible for the management of the Parts payables and inventory accounting processes and reporting within the VGCA Accounting Shared Services. This role provides technical accounting guidance to help ensure the companies' Parts payables and inventory accounting areas of responsibility comply with accounting standards, and accounting processes are well supported and sufficiently documented from an internal controls perspective. In support of the team, this role must also facilitate collaboration with the various IT departments and ensure each team receives appropriate systems support.

The incumbent leads the team by coaching, guiding and measuring the team members towards the achievement of established objectives. The role also supports with various audits, providing audit requirements and analysis for various external and internal audits (quarterly, year-end, group audits).

Key Responsibilities

• Manages team consisting of Coordinators, Specialists, Analysts & Professional Level Accountants
• Establish and negotiate specific performance objectives for each individual team member and ensure alignment to Accounting Services’ corporate objectives
• Monitor teams’ performance versus established departmental and individual role metrics and take corrective action where necessary
• Responsible for the hiring and on-boarding of new staff
• Ensure the accurate invoicing of all products and services and the payment of parts invoices adhere to established terms of sale and corporate objectives, policies and procedures
• Research and resolve escalated vendor and employee inquiries regarding problem invoices, always striving for good supplier relations and timely issue resolution
• Analyze sales, cost of sales, inventory and all other related accounts
• Review and report required monthly inventory schedules and fluctuations
• Ensure all entries originating within areas of responsibility are in compliance with IFRS and Group guidelines.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to help ensure the company's financial accounting functions in areas of responsibility comply with accounting standards. Ensure accounting processes are properly and adequately supported and documented
• Conduct meetings as required to discuss and resolve accounting issues, process improvements and identify risks proposing solutions and escalating as appropriate
• Develop, monitor, and support processes to compensate for open issues and develop solutions by working closely with other departments
• Ensure all areas of process maps, narratives, control matrices and desk procedures are prepared, updated, tested, and maintained, and ensure relevant internal controls are adhered to by team members
• All other duties as required

Qualifications

Formal Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree- Major in Finance and/or related discipline
  • CPA designation considered an asset

Experience

  • 5+ years of finance and/or related accounting experience
  • 2+ years of leadership experience required

Competencies

  • Well-developed leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough knowledge of functional accounting methods and application of IFRS.
  • Highly advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills – Written, oral and presentation to document, articulate and convey functions and processes. Analytical skills – Ability to dissect complex accounting and financial processes and identifyrisks and process improvements.
  • Works well under strict deadlines with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong business acumen – understanding of large, complex organizations and ability to interact with all levels of an organization.

Work Flexibility:

  • This position is Hybrid
  • Availability for occasional travel, as per business requirements

Salary range is dependent on factors such as industry-based experience, skills, training, credentials, and other qualifications. The salary range for this role is $99,000-109,000, actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and internal compensation practices.
