Job Title: Accounting Manager
The Accounting
Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and
ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This
role is responsible for managing accounting staff, resolving complex accounting
issues, maintaining internal controls, and supporting other departments with
financial insights and compliance-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Prepare and manage annual
budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor spending, analyze
financial variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure effective allocation
of financial resources to support business goals.
Financial Reporting and Compliance
- Oversee the preparation of
accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.
- Maintain and strengthen
internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with
relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting
requirements.
- Stay current with legislative
and regulatory changes affecting financial operations.
Analysis and Decision Support
- Analyze financial data to
identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide strategic
recommendations to management to support informed decision-making.
- Conduct special financial
analyses or reports as required.
Leadership and Team Development
- Supervise, train, and mentor
accounting staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Oversee task assignments,
performance reviews, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative,
results-oriented environment within the accounting team.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors degree in
Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of
progressive accounting experience.
- At least 2 years in a
supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Experience in cross-border or
international taxation is an advantage but not required.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of
accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in accounting
systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with tax
regulations, external audits, and internal control systems.
