The role of the Accounting Manager is to oversee the daily operations of the accounting department and reception areas, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and excellent customer service. The Accounting Manager will lead a team of accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality results. The Accounting Manager shall be cross trained in all aspects of the accounting department and be able to assist the Controller with financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and other tasks as assigned. They collaborate with other departments and business units to resolve issues, streamline processes, and implement best practices to optimize the organization’s financial performance.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff and receptionist, providing guidance on daily tasks, professional development, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
  • Assist in the Credit and Collections process.
  • Be fully cross trained in all aspects of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
  • Assist the Controller to prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets for accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Assist the Controller on internal and external audits, providing support and documentation as needed.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and assist in the month end closing process.

Other Responsibilities:

  • All other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory experience

  • The role involves computer-based tasks, with flexibility to work seated or standing.
  • The employee may be required to travel occasionally. Travel may involve overnight stays/air travel/driving a vehicle.
