Job Description

Compensation: $100,000 to $130,000 annually.

Location: Scottsdale, AZ

Workplace Setting: Fully Onsite


The Accounting Manager will work directly with the team to enhance and shape our accounting function during a period of rapid growth and scaling. In this role, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading accounting and general ledger activities to ensure accurate and insightful financial reporting for all stakeholders. This includes overseeing key areas such as revenue recognition, month-end close management, and P&L reviews. Your primary responsibilities also include managing, reviewing, and ensuring the integrity of the financial statements for the company’s operations. This is an instrumental hire as Cardone Ventures continues to scale, offering significant opportunities for advancement and increased responsibility.

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:

Within 30 Days:

  • You have completed onboarding and developed a strong understanding of our systems (NetSuite, ARM, billing workflows), reporting structure, and month-end close process.
  • You understand the workflows from Sales Order → Invoice → Deferred Revenue → Revenue Recognition and how reconciliations support accurate financial reporting.

Within 60 Days:

  • You understand how revenue flows through NetSuite, how commissions are calculated, how reconciliations are structured, and how financial reports are delivered to stakeholders.
  • You are confidently leading major components of the close process and elevating the quality of financial reporting.

Within 90 Days:

  • Elevate the performance and accountability of the accounting team, strengthening internal controls, improving workflows, and consistently delivering high-quality, GAAP-aligned work.
  • Fully own and lead the month-end close process, ensuring financial statements are accurate, delivered ahead of deadlines, and supported by clean, audit-ready reconciliations across revenue, commissions, AP/AR, and cash.


OBJECTIVES

  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • All financial statements and reports are not only accurate and insightful, but also delivered ahead of deadlines to stakeholders, in coordination with senior accounting leadership
  • Ensure that all reconciliations—whether for daily flows into the ERP system, stripe payments, invoices, or post-event attendee data—are completed accurately and promptly.
  • Manage vendor payments efficiently, working closely with higher-level accounting roles to ensure all financial obligations are met without delay, and alidate vendor data for 1099 reporting and preparation
  • Prepare monthly commission reporting & incentive compensation calculations for monthly summary
  • Oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Review the work of direct reports with a focus on accuracy and adherence to accounting standards, providing constructive feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Evaluate current processes to identify areas for improvement, propose innovative solutions, and implement efficiencies that streamline workflows, reduce errors, and enhance overall productivity
  • Reconcile invoices in our AP / AR modules to invoices in NetSuite and ensure there aren’t any missing transactions on both sides
  • Receive client post-event attendee reconciliation and ensure proper invoicing and company reporting
  • Review new deals that are entered by Accounts Receivable to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Track, reconcile, and facilitate payments to vendor partners as necessary
  • Redesign and maintain offline cash-flow forecast P&L model based on AP system data
  • Assist with developing relevant, timely reports on financial data analytics, including key metrics and budget vs. actual performance
  • Monitors due dates and deadlines to ensure compliance on filings

COMPETENCIES

  • Strong ability to compile and analyze financial information
  • Familiar with incentive compensation plans & commission structure to validate monthly reporting
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and applications, including Excel/Google Sheets, QBO, NetSuite, Great Plains, SAP, etc
  • Understanding of how to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, document and research business transactions
  • Skilled in statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates and significant changes
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally with internal departments in order to establish and adhere to budget guidelines
  • Demonstrate proficiency with GAAP to apply those guidelines in a corporate setting
  • Ability to leverage accounting principles in order to achieve business objectives
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting to determine potential risks/opportunities for the business
  • Demonstrate high level of attention to detail to avoid or catch potential errors across financial statements
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong vendor relationships

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 or more years’ experience in an Accounting management role
