Job Description

Tixr is transforming the ticketing industry with a powerful, modern commerce platform built for large-scale events and passionate fans. We empower event creators with the tools to sell tickets, merchandise, and experiences—all in one seamless ecosystem.

Headquartered in Santa Monica, we foster a culture of ownership, curiosity, and execution. We move fast, think big, and continuously improve how we operate. We don’t just maintain processes—we build and optimize them to scale.

The Role

📍 Santa Monica, CA | Hybrid (approximately 50% in-office, 2–3 days per week)

We’re seeking a hands-on, forward-thinking Accounting Manager who operates like a systems builder and finance leader—someone who thrives in the details but consistently steps back to design processes, strengthen controls, and scale infrastructure.

This is not a “manage the close and maintain status quo” role. You’ll lead core accounting and reporting, drive operational excellence, and help architect a finance function built for growth. You’ll partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure financial data is accurate, timely, and actionable.

You will be expected to elevate how accounting operates—not just execute within it. If you see broken processes and instinctively move to redesign them, this role is for you.

What You’ll Own

Accounting Leadership, Financial Reporting & Tax

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
  • Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and detailed flux analysis
  • Ensure the integrity of revenue recognition, client reporting, and payout processes
  • Own and enhance internal reporting packages for senior leadership
  • Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and close procedures
  • Lead audit readiness and manage external audit and review processes
  • Partner with external tax advisors to support corporate income tax and sales/use tax compliance, ensure reporting accuracy, and proactively identify tax risks

Revenue, Client & Operational Reporting

  • Oversee client, revenue, and payout reporting with a high degree of accuracy and consistency
  • Ensure data integrity across payments platforms, accounting systems, and internal tools
  • Investigate and resolve complex reporting discrepancies
  • Improve visibility into key financial and operational metrics

Systems, Process & Scale

  • Identify gaps and inefficiencies across accounting workflows—and lead redesign efforts
  • Drive automation initiatives, system integrations, and documentation improvements
  • Build scalable, repeatable processes that support rapid growth
  • Leverage AI and modern tools to enhance speed, visibility, and decision-making
  • Lead cross-functional special projects from ambiguous problem → structured solution

Cross-Functional & Strategic Partnership

  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Product, and Client Success to align financial reporting with business activity
  • Act as a finance thought partner—providing insight beyond the numbers
  • Help leadership translate financial data into operational and strategic decisions

What You Bring

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience (Big 4 and/or high-growth tech startup experience is a plus)
  • Strong GAAP foundation with experience managing the close process end-to-end
  • Experience reviewing work, improving controls, and elevating accounting quality
  • Demonstrated ability to build structure in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Proven track record improving workflows through automation and systems thinking
  • Working knowledge of corporate income tax and sales/use tax (marketplace facilitator exposure is a strong plus)
  • Experience with systems such as Stripe, QuickBooks Online (QBO), Ramp, and Notion
  • CPA preferred, but strong operators without a CPA are encouraged
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders

The Perks

  • Salary Range: $95,000 – $120,000 + Bonus + Equity
  • Paid Health, Dental, Vision, Life plans ($0 Premiums + Partial Dependent Coverage)
  • Open Vacation – Unlimited PTO
  • 401(k) (50% match up to 3%)
  • Education / Professional Stipend
  • Paid Holidays & Birthdays Off
  • Parental Leave
  • Team Offsites / Events
  • Ticket hookups
