Job Description

The Susquehanna Co-op Program gives you an opportunity to apply what you learn in class to real world business scenarios. As an Accounting co-op, you will have the opportunity to expand your accounting knowledge while learning how to prepare and reconcile financial statements and general legers.

Susquehanna co-ops will work on projects that give you exposure to multiple departments (such as trading, operations and technology) as well as multiple systems (both third party platforms and those internally developed) to ensure that proper documentation is obtained and accurate reporting is performed. You will also have the unique opportunity to learn about current accounting rules and how they impact various aspects of the business, including the application of accounting guidance in financial statements.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of journal entries for financial close process returns
  • Research and analyze accounting guidance and its effects on Susquehanna’s businesses
  • Prepare audit support for various entities within the firm
  • Assist with monthly reconciliations of operations data for accounting purposes
  • Perform accounting technology development and analysis

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related major
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Access
  • Prior co-op/internship/project experience in a accounting or accounting, a plus
  • Ability to collaborate with a team while having the confidence to work independently
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Will not require sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future
