Job Description

Pay: $21.93 per hour

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Friday - Monday 1pm - 12am (4 days on, 3 days off)

Work with a purpose! Management & Training Corporation (MTC) provides a safe and secure working environment for our staff at the Bluebonnet Detention Center in Anson, TX, while helping detainees gain valuable skills and treatment necessary for success upon release.

What you’ll do: You’ll be responsible for performing payroll services and assisting with other accounting functions in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

Essential Functions:

  1. Responsible for end-to-end payroll processing bi-weekly following prescribed step by step processes.
  2. Maintain payroll and leave administration systems including verification of available leave balances.
  3. Coordinate with staff and management on payroll related queries and issues.
  4. Calculate and process final checks, pay changes and increases, and levies and garnishments.
  5. Responsible for obtaining payroll acknowledgements signed by supervisors and employees. Log and track receipt and/or missing forms.
  6. Maintenance of all payroll records including archiving and filing.
  7. Verify and process time adjustments.
  8. Assist with making bank deposits including driving to the bank.
  9. Process invoice and payments to designated subcontractors.
  10. Perform miscellaneous clerical duties involving typing, filing, accumulating data and preparation of repetitive reports.
  11. Regular attendance is required.
  12. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
  13. Maintain accountability of detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of varied and responsible accounting or payroll experience required. Academic training in bookkeeping, accounting or payroll desired. Experience with automated accounting and payroll systems or programs preferred. Must successfully complete required preservice training. Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
