
Title: Accounting Clerk / Administrative Assistant
Shift: Day Shift (Specific hours to be determined based on organizational needs)
Salary: Competitive hourly rate; exact compensation is dependent on experience. $22-$26/hour
Accounting Clerk / Administrative Assistant Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced individual to manage dual responsibilities in transactional accounting and office administration. This role exists to maintain accurate financial records for both accounts payable and accounts receivable while executing daily administrative tasks to support the operations of a long-standing metal manufacturing business.
Accounting Clerk / Administrative Assistant Responsibilities:
Prepare, process, and distribute customer invoices accurately
Prepare and post bank deposits while maintaining the ledger for incoming ACH, deposits, and wired funds
Manage collections processes and maintain comprehensive, updated customer files
Review, code, and enter vendor invoices into the system for payment
Perform routine check runs, mail payments, and scan paid documentation to maintain organized vendor files
Correspond directly with vendors to resolve account discrepancies and answer billing inquiries
Reconcile bank statements and assist the team with month-end closing and financial reporting
Perform general administrative and support tasks to maintain office efficiency
Accounting Clerk / Administrative Assistant Reporting Relationships:
The Accounting Clerk / Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Finance Manager. This position serves as an individual contributor and does not have any direct supervisory reports.
About You:
Possess 1–3 years of professional experience in general bookkeeping or transactional accounting
Hold a high school diploma or equivalent qualification, with an Associate Degree in Business or Accounting preferred
Demonstrate a solid understanding of fundamental accounts payable and accounts receivable principles
Maintain strong proficiency in data entry, basic mathematics, and computer applications
Exhibit strong technical skills using PC systems and the Microsoft Office suite
Demonstrate a high level of organizational skill, thoroughness, accuracy, and sharp attention to detail
Maintain excellent communication skills to foster strong customer and vendor relationships
