Essential Functions:

- Receives physical inventory and records purchase order receipts accurately and timely in the ERP system.
- Calculates and records inventory costs based on production jobs, material usage, processing activities, labor allocations, overhead allocations, and other applicable manufacturing costs; researches and resolves costing variances and discrepancies.
- Reviews purchase orders, supplier invoices, receiving records, shipping documents, and other supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Verifies inventory quantities, material specifications, production job costs, and inventory valuations; researches and resolves receiving, costing, manufacturing, and invoice discrepancies.
- Maintains accurate inventory accounting records and supports periodic inventory valuation and reconciliation activities.
- Reviews and enters sales invoices and prepares invoices for internal and external invoicing systems.
- Investigates and resolves customer billing inquiries, invoice issues, credits, and related discrepancies.
- Assists with invoice verification and the payment approval process.
- Participates in physical inventory counts and processes inventory or billing credits as needed.
- Documents and communicates transaction irregularities, corrective actions, and continuing needs to Accounting, Purchasing, Warehouse, Operations, Sales, customers, and suppliers as appropriate.
- Provides the Controller and/or Senior Accountant with accurate financial data to support timely reporting.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Adheres to the Reliance Code of Conduct, customer confidentiality requirements, company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.

Required & Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree coursework in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred.
- One to two years of related accounting, billing, order entry, inventory receiving, or administrative experience preferred.
- Experience with inventory costing, job costing, manufacturing transactions, or ERP-based cost accounting preferred.
- Order entry experience required.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills with close attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately in a high-volume, transaction-driven, deadline-oriented environment while managing multiple concurrent tasks and interruptions.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with internal and external customers.
- Ability to work effectively across departments and demonstrate professionalism, diplomacy, and appropriate telephone etiquette.
- Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Occupation requires being sedentary up to 75% of the workday, or less than six hours per day.
- Regular activities may include standing, walking, sitting, hearing, talking, using hands and fingers, hand-eye coordination, reaching, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and bending.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Position works primarily in an office or cubicle environment and may include moderate telephone activity and quiet to moderate noise levels.
- Work may require periodic access to warehouse or field areas.
