
Performs various accounting duties related to accurately processing accounts payable and/or receivable for the Catholic Cemeteries, Archdiocese of Los Angels.
Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.
· Prepares and processes purchase orders.
· Sets up and maintains vendor and related files; files and retrieves documents as necessary.
· Follows up on questions and concerns with vendors; sends copies of canceled checks as requested.
· Codes accounts payable; assigns vendor number; obtains proper approvals and checks math for accuracy.
· Ensures accuracy and proper authorization in processing invoices and payments.
· Receives and counts cash payments; collects and processes daily deposits; identifies proper account classification and enters deposit information into computer; verifies amount with deposit slips.
· Researches and resolves routine problems related to accounts payable and/or receivable.
· Performs other various clerical accounting duties including gathering and calculating routine account data; opening, stamp dating and disturbing mail and typing routine correspondence.
· Answers telephones and responds appropriately to questions pertaining to contacts and payments.
· Maintains inventory contracts.
· Performs related duties as assigned.
