JobSummary:

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Assistant will beinvolved in the in the full cycle of accounting procedures, including journalentries, general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivableand assist in union payroll processing.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

Processvendor invoices, resolve discrepancies on invoices or reports by interfacingwith other sections, departments, vendors and clients; ensure all invoices haveappropriate approvals;

Processand record vendor and subcontractor payments;

Trackpreliminary notices and ensure proper lien releases are provided;

Ensurecompliance with construction accounting standards, tax regulations and companypolicies;

Assistwith union payroll processing, union reporting and related tax reporting;

Assistwith preparing control documents to reconcile payroll, AP and AR transactions;

Establishand maintain files for payroll, AP, AR and general accounting;

Preparecorrespondence, checks and reports, as required;

AssistController with various audits;

Performother assignments, as directed.

Qualifications:

Associate’sDegree in Accounting, Business, or similar discipline; Bachelor’s Degree, aplus;

At least3 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity;

Knowledgeof general construction accounting, auditing, payroll (union and non-union) andinvoicing, required;

Proficiencyin accounting software such as Spectrum, Sage, or similar platforms;

Proficiency in the MS Office 365 suite of products, specificallyExcel and Word, required;

Proficiency in operating office equipment to include PCs,copiers, fax machine and 10-key calculator;

Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonalskills;

Exemplary time management, accuracy, organizational,problem-solving, attention to detail, multi-tasking, critical thinking andfollow-through skills;

Ability to work effectively alone and within a collaborativeteam environment. 

Compensation:

$30.00 - $40.00 per hour DOE, for this non-exempt position.

80 hoursof annual PTO (vacation/sick time combined) in 1st year andincreasing incrementally thereafter, eligibility for use is after 90 days ofemployment.

WorkingHours:

8:00AM –5:00PM Monday – Friday, with flexibility on the schedule for 40 hours full-time

or

Part-timeat 20 hours per week, with flexibility on the schedule.
