The Accounting Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the financial and operational success of our Craigsville facility. This position focuses on timber-related accounting activities while providing essential assistance to the plant’s accounting team. You will be responsible for accurate reporting of timber and production data, processing accounts payable, and assisting with payroll and cost tracking. In addition, you’ll help maintain inventory records, reconcile purchase orders, and support month-end close processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where accuracy and timeliness are key
Essential Job Duties

· Process daily timber and mill production reports
· Manage accounts payable and assist with vendor inquiries
· Assist with payroll reporting and verification
· Maintain accurate inventory records for timber and raw materials
· Support cost tracking for production and maintenance activities
· Prepare and reconcile purchase orders for supplies and services
· Assist with month-end closing tasks and reporting
· Answer and route internal and external phone calls
Perform general office duties, including file maintenance, data entry, word processing, photocopying, and special projects as assigned
Qualification and Educational Requirements
· Associate Degree or Bachelor’s in Accounting preferred or equivalent work experience
· Minimum of 1 year of relevant clerical or accounting experience
· Knowledge of office and administrative procedures, including phone and customer relations protocol
· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
· Effective communication skills and high attention to detail
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and solve problems effectively
PPE Requirements
· PPE required when on the plant floor.
Work Environment
· This role primarily operates in an office setting with moderate exposure to noise, fumes, airborne particles and varying temperatures while on the plant floor.
Position will work on-site at Craigsville, WV, location.
