Job Description

Our client, a well established and respected corporate service provider in Malta, is currently looking for an Accounting Assistant to join their Finance department. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to kick-start or further develop their career in accounting within a supportive and professional environment.

This is a hybrid role offering a salary of up to €24K, depending on experience.

Please note that due to the urgency of the role, only candidates who are already based in Malta can be considered.

Role & Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping, including bank reconciliations, posting invoices, and maintaining accounts payable and receivable ledgers up to trial balance

• Prepare and process payments accurately while respecting deadlines

• Support the monthly client billing cycle, including preparing and issuing invoices

• Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns

• Liaise with auditors, the Tax and VAT Departments, and the MBR as directed by the Head of Department

• Maintain organised and up-to-date filing systems for accounting and financial documentation

Education, Skills & Experience

• Advanced Level qualification in Accounting

• Previous experience in an accounting role is an asset

• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written

• Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships across internal and external departments

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision

• Proficient in MS 365 applications and other tools
