Job Description

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our Offshored Services team. The position requires utilizing substantial accounting skills while producing high quality, detailed work based on well-defined processes and standards. Precise and consistent work output is essential for the position.

The Accounting Assistant position shall follow company policies and adhere to company regulations. The position is expected to cooperate and support colleagues and bring forward relevant matters within own area of responsibility.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The position supports the Team Leader Financial Accounts in all areas of payables set up, invoicing, accruals, and prepayments, lapsing schedules, tax filing, monthly reporting and closing of books.

TASKS:

Financial Accountant---

• Responsible for filing of corporate taxes (EWT, WTC, FBT, WVAT, FWT, VAT and Income taxes) for Odfjell in the Philippines companies.
• Prepares annual budget for OMPI and OPI.
• Prepares annual financial statements for Odfjell Philippines Inc.
• Encode entries to be entered into the accounting system.
• Prepares monthly reports (i.e., Depreciation, Prepayments, Accrual, Deposits).
• Performs intercompany account reconciliation.
• Prepares necessary adjusting and closing entries.
• Prepare expat salary including other currency reimbursements.
• Monitors crew advances.
• Generates crew list for suppliers invoice of union dues payment and AMOSUP.
• Prepares monthly billing and fund requests to Odfjell companies.
• Acts as back up for crew payroll process.
• Responsible for orderly filing of important corporate documents (i.e., billings, tax returns, etc.).
• Aids the Team Leader Financial Accounts and other colleagues in decision-making.
• Performs other relevant tasks as may be assigned by superior.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in accountancy, with CPA license.
• Minimum five years experience in general accounting.
• Proficiency in tax regulations and accounting standards.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft tools and Power BI.
• Effective communicator (spoken and written) at all levels.
• Detail-oriented, exacting and has a high sense of urgency in getting results that are timely and accurate.
• Works well under pressure, takes ownership of work, and ensures exceptional follow-through.
• Able to multitask and work independently as well as part of a team.
• Can exercise confidentiality on all information entrusted with.
